How ChatBlocked.ai Collects and Reports Data

Last updated: April 2026

ChatBlocked.ai is built on anonymous employee reports about workplace AI tool policies. This page explains how those reports are submitted, reviewed, aggregated, and published — and the steps we take to protect contributor anonymity.

How Reports Are Submitted

Anyone can submit a report covering a specific employer and one or more AI tools. Reporters select whether ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, and other tools are Allowed, Blocked, or Unknown at their employer. They can also indicate whether the employer pays for the tool subscription. Reporters may optionally verify affiliation via LinkedIn or work email. Verification is optional — unverified reports are still reviewed — but verified reports receive a visible badge. The verification process does not reveal the reporter's identity.

How Reports Are Moderated

All reports enter a pending queue before being published. Our moderation team checks plausibility, specificity, and removes any detail that could identify the submitter. Reports that appear to be submitted by employers to inflate their own ratings are rejected. Reports that pass moderation are published as Approved.

How Aggregate Stats Are Calculated

Each company profile displays: total approved reports, allow rate / block rate (percentage of tool-report combinations), tool-level breakdowns (Allowed / Blocked / Unknown counts), verified report count, and employer-paid subscription flags. Aggregates are recalculated whenever a new report is approved.

What's Public and What's Gated

Publicly visible: company names, existence of reports, overall allow/block indicators, and trending data. Visible after submitting a report: full tool-by-tool breakdowns and detailed company profile data. Guide content, the About page, and this Methodology page are fully public. Bots and crawlers see the same limited view as a logged-out human — we do not create special bot content versions.

How We Protect Anonymity

We collect the minimum information needed to verify credibility. No names, job titles, team names, or office locations are collected during report submission. Work email verification confirms employer affiliation but the email is not displayed to other users or to the employer. Moderation removes any content that could plausibly identify the reporter.

Conflicts of Interest

ChatBlocked.ai does not accept payment from employers, AI tool vendors, or any other party to alter, suppress, boost, or influence individual reports or aggregate company ratings. There is no paid placement on company pages or in trending lists. If you believe a report has been manipulated, contact us — we investigate factual errors but do not alter ratings at employer request without evidence of a genuine factual inaccuracy.
